As aspiring sports journalists, 15-year-old Jesse Friedman and 18-year-old Blake Benard collaborate to write regular blogposts and record a bi-weekly audio podcast. Everything you see and hear on this website was derived from their minds. Here’s a little bit more about both of them:
Jesse Friedman
A freshman in high school, Jesse enjoys God, math, music, writing, and sports. He is currently leading a math club with several like-minded peers. Although his interests are very diverse, his main aspiration is to become a sports journalist and/or broadcaster. His imitation of the D-Backs’ radio play-by-play announcer, Greg Schulte, won him the opportunity to be a kidkaster for the Diamondbacks in 2011. One day, he hopes to exceed the relatively meager professionalism of this WordPress blog and become a real sports analyst.
Blake Benard
Currently, Blake is a freshman at the Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, looking to study specifically in Sports Journalism. He plans to pursue a career as a Sports Reporter for the Arizona Republic and cover sports across the valley. Check out his personal blog here.
